MARYLAND FUGITIVE ARRESTED AT XENIA
Timothy P. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Cincinnati Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced that FBI agents arrested Andre Earl Evans, approximate age 30, at a residence on Emmet Drive, Xenia, Ohio without incident this morning at approximately 11:15 am. The FBI was assisted by Xenia Police Officers and Dayton Police Officers assigned to the Dayton Safe Streets task force. Evans is charged by Baltimore County, Maryland officials with one count of Armed Robbery; two counts of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Rape; and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Sex Offense under Maryland law. FBI officials in Maryland obtained a federal arrest warrant based upon a complaint charging Evans with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
Evans will be transported to Dayton and will receive an initial appearance at the U.S. District Courthouse in Dayton before a U.S. Magistrate Judge this afternoon unless Maryland authorities request that he be turned over to Ohio authorities.
SAC Murphy expressed his appreciation to Xenia Police Chief Randy Person and Dayton Director of Police Julian K. Davis for the assistance of their personnel in the safe arrest of Evans.
