CLERMONT COUNTY MAN ARRESTED ON ARMED BANK ROBBERY CHARGES
Timothy P. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Cincinnati
Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced the arrest
of Todd Brattain, age 33, Pleasant Plains, Ohio. Brattain was arrested
by FBI agents, assisted by the Dayton Police Department, at his place of
employment, in Blanchester, Ohio, on March 7, 2007. Brattain was charged
in a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio,
with violations of Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 2113(a) and (d) - Bank
Robbery - and of Title 18, U.S. Code Section 924(c)(1)(A)(ii). Violation
of the first statute is punishable by imprisonment of up to twenty five
years and violation of the second statute is punishable by imprisonment
of up to seven years.
The arrest arose as a result of the investigation of the robbery of National
City Bank, 10 South Dorset, Troy, Ohio, on January 14, 2005.
Brattain's initial appearance before Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael R. Merz at the U.S. District Courthouse in Dayton, Ohio, occurred on March 7, 2007. Brattain was detained pending a preliminary examination/detention hearing scheduled for Monday, March 12, 2007 at 9:30 a.m.
