Timothy P. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Cincinnati Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Gregory G. Lockhart, U.S. Attorney, Southern District of Ohio announced the sentencing of Clarence Remble, age 37, of Long Beach, California for his leadership role in trafficking narcotics between California and Ohio in conjunction with members and associates of the Dodge City Crips street gang. Remble will be sentenced this morning at 10:00 am in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati to for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846, Manufacturing and Distributing a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy. Remble is one of 20 individuals who have been convicted as a result of this investigation. He is the 18th to be sentenced. Others convicted and sentenced to date are:
1. Earl Owens, age 43, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Owens was sentenced to 240 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
2. Joya Caldwell, age 28, of Middletown, Ohio. Caldwell was sentenced to 87 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
3. Adonia Hogsten, age 30, of Middletown, Ohio. Hogsten was sentenced to 37 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
4. Justin Lawson, age 33, of Middletown, Ohio. Lawson was sentenced to 175 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
5. C.J. Roland Martin, age 22, of Middletown, Ohio. Martin was sentenced to 46 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
6. Jeffrey Remble, age 23, of Middletown, Ohio. Remble was sentenced to 145 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
7. John Cassanova, age 26, of Middletown, Ohio. Cassanova was sentenced to 56 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
8. John Woodward, age 40, of Middletown, Ohio. Woodward was sentenced to 18 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
9. John Wayne Jones, age 25, of Monroe, Ohio. Jones was sentenced to 210 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
10. Caesar Anderson, Jr., age 22, of Los Angeles. Anderson was sentenced to 120 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
11. Janet Alexander, age 45, of Zanesville, Ohio. Alexander was sentenced to 87 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
12. Jamie Jerell Covington, age 31, of Zanesville, Ohio. Covington was sentenced to 112 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
13. Carrie Evans, age 20, of Zanesville, Ohio. Evans will be sentenced later this month. Evans has entered a guilty plea for violating Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
14. Antwain Travon Atkins, age 21, of Zanesville, Ohio. Atkins was sentenced to 46 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
15. Darnell Jerome Mitchell, age 27, of California. Mitchell was sentenced to 63 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
16. Jeffrey Stephon Carter, of California. Carter was sentenced to 18 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
17. Jacori Myshon Holt, age 27, of California. Holt was sentenced to 121 months for violations of Title 21 USC 841 & 846.
18. Ellie Paula Jones of Monroe, Ohio. Jones was sentenced to 5 years probation for violation of Title 21 USC 843.
19. Kristen Richards of Middletown, Ohio, Richards will be sentenced later this month. Richards has entered a guilty plea to violating Title 21 USC 856, Maintaining a Drug-Involved Premises.
The overall investigation, which spanned from Los Angeles, California to Middletown, Zanesville, Coshocton, and Reynoldsburg, Ohio was coordinated by the FBI Cincinnati Division and included significant participation by the Middletown Police Department, the Reynoldsburg Police Department, the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, the Butler County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The investigation was also greatly aided by the Columbus Police Department Package Interdiction Unit, which is a part of the Ohio High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) South Central Task Force.
Mr. Murphy stated, "These convictions demonstrate the resolve of the FBI, in cooperation with state, local and federal officials, to combat the scourge of criminal gang activity." He thanked the agencies involved for their support and significant contributions to the successes realized in this investigation. Mr Lockhart stated, "We are committed to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations in Southern Ohio. Such organizations use violence to threaten communities large and small." Both officials noted that this well coordinated investigative effort has seriously disrupted the Dodge City Crips gang which was trying to establish roots in smaller Ohio cities.
